Doncaster Speeches

Releases 1-20 | 21-35

Buses: Doncaster
I call on the Minister for Public Transport to release the long-awaited review of Doncaster bus services. Bringing forward the time frame, the review was officially announced by the Minister for Public Transport during a visit to Manningham in October 2007. more

Box Hill Hospital: redevelopment
My matter tonight is for the Minister for Health. The action I seek is for him to make good his long overdue promise to redevelop Box Hill Hospital as waiting times in the emergency department and for elective surgery worsen at this ageing facility.more

Planning: Doncaster Hill Activity Centre
I call on the Minister for Housing to postpone the commencement of the social and affordable housing development on Tram Road, Doncaster, until members of the Doncaster community have been appropriately consulted and their views have been taken into account.more

Public transport: Doncaster electorate
Doncaster has limited access to public transport and has infrequent and overcrowded services which have restricted hours of availability. However, this Labor government steadfastly holds the view that buses are the only option for Doncaster's transport woes. more

Box Hill Hospital: funding
I rise to express serious concern over the waiting lists at Box Hill Hospital and to call on the government to take immediate action to remedy this situation and invest in the redevelopment of the hospital. more

Planning: Eastern Golf Club
The 47 hectares of the Eastern Golf Club adjoining Doncaster Hill is due to go up for sale very shortly following a decision by members to relocate the club. The pending sale and subsequent development of the land is a huge loss to Doncaster, a huge disappointment to local residents and to the whole community. more

Springvale-Old Warrandyte roads, Donvale: traffic lights
I rise to highlight the disdain with which the Brumby Labor government treats Victorians. This government does not consult, does not listen and does not act on the concerns of communities. more

Appropriation (2009/2010) Bill
Each year for the last 10 years millions of Victorians have waited with bated breath for a budget that will deliver the services they desperately need, services such as public transport, health, education and community services, and each year they continue to be disappointed. more

EastLink: noise barriers
The lives of many residents in my electorate have been virtually intolerable due to traffic noise along EastLink. Families are suffering from sleep deprivation. more

Springvale-Old Warrandyte roads, Donvale: traffic lights
I raise a matter for the Minister for Roads and Ports. The action I seek is for him to ensure that the new traffic lights being installed at the busy Springvale Road-Old Warrandyte Road intersection in my electorate meet the needs of local residents. According to the former transport minister, these lights are being installed to 'improve safety and reduce delays at this busy intersection'. more

Services in the Doncaster Electorate
I raise a matter for the attention of the Treasurer. The action I seek is for the Treasurer to deliver funding in the upcoming budget for facilities and services to Doncaster that residents need and deserve. This Brumby government is letting down Doncaster residents in many ways, including provision of health services, public transport, roads and taxes. more

King Street, Doncaster: traffic lights
I call on the government to install pedestrian-operated traffic lights near the Roseville Retirement Village on busy King Street, a road of state responsibility in my Doncaster electorate.more

Buses: Doncaster
I rise to condemn the Brumby government for its cancellation of a critical bus route which Doncaster students rely on to get to school. more

Bushfire Condolence Speech
This week the Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a condolence motion for the Victorian bushfires. more

EastLink: noise barriers
Donvale residents are still waiting for EastLink issues to be satisfactorily resolved. It is clear from my many discussions and personal observations that there are some serious outstanding issues, especially concerning the noise made by truck brakes as trucks travel past residents' homes. more
